Our investigators have a combined 60 years of experience in clinical research and conducting clinical trials. They have an unprecedented passion and enthusiasm for clinical research that has enable them to have a tremendous impact on the medical community and in the lives of their patients. Dr. Colby Grossman is an Internal Medicine physician and the President and co-founder of PCR. A native of Greeleyville, South Carolina, He earned a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of South Carolina before continuing to achieve his Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC. Dr. Grossman has been board-certified since 1987 and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is also a certified principal investigator (CPI) through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). He currently sits as co-chairman of the quality committee for Palmetto Primary Care Physicians. Dr. Grossman has been participating in clinical trials for over 30 years.

Dr. Eric Bolster is an Internal Medicine Physician and the CEO and co-founder of Palmetto Clinical Research. Originally from Durham, North Carolina, He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors degree in chemistry. He was awarded an Armed Forces Scholarship and attended Duke University School of Medicine where he obtained his Doctorate of Medicine. His Internal Medicine Residency was performed at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia, where he was awarded Most Outstanding Senior Resident. He then served as staff Internist at the Charleston Naval Hospital and an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Bolster has been in private practice as an Internal Medicine physician since 1993. He has served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Trident Health Care System and currently serves as Board Member and Vice President of the Executive Board for Palmetto Primary Care Physicians. Dr. Bolster has been a certified as primary investigator through the ACRP and has been participating in clinical trials for over 25 years.

Dr. Ronnie Givens is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He obtained his Bachelors degree in biology from the College of Charleston. He then received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1995 and completed his residency at New Hanover Regional Medical in 1999. Also in 1999, Dr. Givens joined LowCountry Women’s Specialists where he has worked since. He is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the Dorchester Medical Society, and Chairman of the department of Women and Children for Trident Health System. Dr. Givens has significant expertise in the specialised field of robotic and minimally invasive obstetrics. He is particularly interested in the management of endometriosis, fibroids, as well as other complex gynecologic studies. Dr. Givens has been a clinical research investigator with Palmetto Clinical Research since 2012.
Dr. Joseph Mathews started his education at the College of Charleston where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelors degree in biology. He then earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina, where he also completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology. Dr. Mathews is the director of endocrinology at Palmetto Primary Care Physicians. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Dr. Mathews has advanced training in diabetes treatments, neck ultrasound, thyroid biopsies, and clinical densitometry. He is the only physician in the LowCountry to earn a ECNU certification. He also holds the position of Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Mathews is nationally recognized for his treatment of Cushing’s Syndrome, sits on advisory committees regarding this disease process and also travels across the country to give presentations on this topic. In 2018, he joined Palmetto Clinical Research as a clinical research investigator.

Dr. Matt Carlile is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed his Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry with minors in Spanish, Mathematics, and Chemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He obtained his Doctorate of Medicine from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Carlile then completed his neurology residency at the University of Miami where he was also chief resident. Following his residency, Dr. Carlile completed a neuromuscular fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He joined Charleston Neurology Associates in 2016 where he has been in practice since. In 2018, he joined Palmetto Clinical Research as a clinical research investigator. Dr. Carlile is interested in all aspects of general neurology.

Dr. Beatrice Hull is board certified by the American Board of Endocrinology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She obtained her Doctorate of Medicine from Kaunas University of Medicine in Kaunas, Lithuania. She then completed an Internal Medicine residency with St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut where she was also chief resident. From there, she completed an Endocrinology Fellowship with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). At MUSC she continued on to become an Instructor in the division of Endocrinology, Associate Program Director for MUSC’s Endocrinology fellowship training program, Assistant Professor for the Division of Endocrinology, Medical Director for the MUSC Center for Osteoporosis and Bone Health and also Program Director for the Endocrinology fellowship training program. In 2017 she went into private practice at Carolina Endocrine Associates. Dr. Hull is ECFMG and CRIT certified and GCP trained. She joined Palmetto Clinical Research as a clinical research investigator in 2019.
Dr. Eveline Waring is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She completed her Bachelors degree in Comparative Literature at Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. She then obtained her Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Waring then completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and an Endocrine Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Waring then worked at Wilmington Health Associates in Wilmington, North Carolina, LowCountry Endocrinology in Charleston, and Palmetto Primary Care Physicians in Mt. Pleasant. She began her private practice, Carolina Endocrine Associates, in 2016. Dr. Waring is certified in AACCE and Nuclear Medicine: radioactive iodine diagnosis and treatment and GCP trained. She joined Palmetto Clinical Research as a clinical research investigator in 2019.
Dr. Elizabeth Bond is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s of Science in Dietetics. She then completed a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. Following this, Dr. Bond completed an Internal Medicine Residency with Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York, New York. Then then became Chief Fellow of the Endocrinology Fellowship Training Program at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Bond went into private practice with Carolina Endocrine Associates in 2019. She maintains an Endocrine certification in Neck Ultrasound and is also GCP trained. Dr. Bond joined Palmetto Clinical Research as a clinical research investigator in 2019.
Dr. Heinemann is a Board Certified fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a native of Georgetown, SC and attended the University of SC for her baccalaureate degree. She then obtained her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. Upon completing her residency at the University of Florida Health Science Center in Jacksonville, she joined Lowcountry Women’s Specialists in 2008, and became a partner in 2009. Dr. Heinemann specializes in both gynecologic and obstetric care, including endometriosis, infertility, and polycystic ovarian syndrome. She is proficient in robotic surgery as well as both medical and surgical treatments for urinary incontinence.
