Yes. Your patient will remain under your care while participating in a research study. A patient who joins a clinical research study should not have any reason related to the clinical trial to leave their PCP’s care. Similar to recommending a specialist for targeted care, a physician may refer a patient to a clinical trial to be able to offer investigational treatments not yet available. 

Yes. You will be contacted after your patient signs an informed consent and medical records release form. We may also ask you to provide any notes, thoughts, or concerns you may have on your patient and the condition being researched. Throughout the study, you will be notified of what stage your patient is in and what treatment they may be receiving. At the conclusion of the study, we will forward you any results of tests your patient may have received while participating.

As a PPCP provider, we offer specific services for you. Firstly, we will contact you for thoughts, comments, or concerns related to your patient’s enrollment in a clinical trial prior to setting up their first appointment. Then, once your patient joins the study we will notify you through eCW of your patient’s participation. In addition, we will provide real-time updates of their lab results as they are received during the trial. Lastly, we will always make you aware, as promptly as possible, of any changes in your patient’s health in between their visits with you.
